05.06.2008 | Slovakia: Young people from 14 countries will search for new ways to reduce carbon use

On June 5, 2008 the British Council and the Ekopolis Foundation introduced a Slovak team of 'Climate Advocates' in Bratislava. Its members will work together with other young influencers from 14 countries to unearth new ways to reduce carbon use or utilize methods already found but not yet properly implemented.
14 people from various fields such as state administration, private business and science have been selected to become members of the climate advocates’ team in Slovakia so far.
Michael Roberts, the British Ambassador who attended the meeting, assured the climate advocates of his help and support for the project. Patrons of the Challenge Europe project in Slovakia are Prof. Milan Lapin and Slovakia’s Superstar Katka Koscova.
The next meeting of the team will take place in July. Small working groups based on the thematic focus will be formed there.
