Organization Description:
The Slovak Environmental Partnership Foundation - Ekopolis Foundation has been managing open grant programs for 17 years. Its beginnings date back to 1991, when it operated as part of the Environmental Partnership for Central Europe program.

The Ekopolis Foundation has become the largest foundation supporting projects focused on sustainable development in Slovakia. It manages private and public financial sources and offers open grant programs for various target groups. It has supported 2183 projects, for a total value of 7.37 Mil. EUR so far. In 2007, it financially and non-financially supported activities throughout Slovakia within 8 programs and 2 funds. It runs also own projects at the national and international level.

The foundation cooperates with active citizens, local municipalities, public administration, business partners and foreign donors. It brings innovative ideas and opens up-to date issues. It endeavors to remain a stable and transparent financial source for people who realize their responsibility for societal development and environmental issues.
