17.10.2008 | Tree of the Year Awared in Czech Republic

The Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation will award the seventh annual prize for “Tree of the Year” October 17, 2008. The title “Tree of the Year” is awarded to one tree each year that is selected by a jury from dozens of entries sent in people of all ages from across the country. This year, the winning tree, a linden tree, received a record 33,976 votes out of record 87,338 votes cast. The competition also generated approximately 26,000 EURO for tree planting activities.   ... more
