Organization Description:
The Bulgarian Environmental Partnership Foundation is among a few local supporters of civic action in the environmental sphere and the only one in the field of renewables in Bulgaria. It is also the only indigenous grant making organizations in Bulgaria. The focus of the organization is on enabling local communities advocate for and protect their environment and cultural heritage through development of sustainable networks of collaboration with local authorities, business, media and institutions. Thanks to a close relationship with the Frankfurt Zoological Society, the foundation has also focused on preservation of endagered species. A central goal foundation activities is to establish and encourage a culture of interaction between not-for-profit organization, civic groups, local governments, representatives of the business community and other national or regional institutions, and to encourage initiatives aimed at improving governance practices.

Norwegian Financial Mechanism
The Bulgarian Environmental Partnership Foundation was selected to administrate the environmental component of the NGO Fund of the prestigious Norwegian Financial Mechanism in Bulgaria and is responsible for the distribution of 743 200 Euro for the period 2008-2010 in the area of “Protection of the Environment and Promotion of Sustainable Development”.
