Annotation

Citizens in Pilisborosjenő, a village northwest of Budapest, have formed a group called ‘2097.hu’ to protect a popular area for trekking, running, dog walking, etc. called “Várvölgy” (Castle Valley). This picturesque popular route goes among beautiful sights of mountains and lavender fields, with the exception of a part approx. 500m long that is barren and surrounded by agricultural plots. The local citizens will plant an alley of trees along this section and build some benches for resting and sightseeing. The activities are planned to take place in April 2018 and involve local citizens. Families will have the opportunity to adopt the planted trees thereby encouraging them to take care of the plants in the future, too.
