Promotion of Sustainable Mobility and Urban Development

Promote sustainable development in urban areas through both integrated urban planning and eco design, as well as through corporate institutional planning for mobility and working environment of their employees. By means of excellent urban planning promotion and training, urban, corporate and school mobility plans promotion and implementation, and Greenway contribute to Trans-European Transportation Network (TEN-T) development.

Climate Change Education

Raise awareness about top-modern technologies and advanced procedures and promote their practical use to combat climate change. Promotion, communication and training using the life story book of Open Garden. Climate – water workshops and contest for university students’ organisation.

Promotion of  Natural capital and biodiversity protection

Raise awareness about biodiversity and motivate population to include practical action on natural capital and biodiversity protection in their day to day lives. Use the mix of the pan-European contest European Tree of the Year, active participation at the European Green Belt conferences and support of community initiated green spaces, development and empowerment of Green entrepreneurship.

Policy and Capacity building of EPA

Networking, support and development of the regional structures, inc. the future team. Establishment of permanent office in Brussels and EPA key programs coordinators presence at the key Brussels environmental events, lobby and funding opportunities monitoring.

The three main objectives of the EPA proposal are:

  1. Promote sustainable development in urban areas through both integrated urban planning and eco design, as well as through and corporate institutional planning for mobility and working environment of their employees.
  2. Raise awareness about top-modern technologies and advanced procedures and promote their practical use to combat climate change.
  3. Raise awareness about biodiversity and motivate population to include practical action on natural capital and biodiversity protection in their day to day lives.

The specific objectives of the EPA proposal are:

  1. Encourage key stake-holders, such as city governments and important employment providers and schools to work together on more sustainable mobility schemes, using latest experience in mobility planning, such as including better organization and logistics of transport (e.g. car sharing, reorganization of parking, etc.) promotion and development of non-motorize transport infrastructure, traffic calming, promotion of Local Agenda 21, walking and cycling modes.
  2. Demonstrate region wide network of grantees and European partners (NGOs, Municipalities and universities we work on in a long term on project basis) to raise awareness about practical environmental and economic benefits of best available environmental technologies and knowledge and promote practical action to combat climate change.
  3. To develop and promote practical means and tools, easily transferable into other EU27 member states, to raise the awareness and motivate population to take practical action on natural capital and biodiversity protection. To promote a model of development for regions with untapped economic potential and a tradition of stewardship of natural and cultural resources.
  4. Capacity building, Advocacy and lobbying.
